“I could hear my heart beating. I could hear everyone's heart. I could hear the human noise we sat there making, not one of us moving, not even when the room went dark.”  - Raymond Carver

Every submission period we will also have a song writing contest. The top ten songs will be chosen by our staff, put together on a CD, and will be put into each issue. If  a song accompanies another piece submitted, just let us know so we can pair the two accordingly.

Guidelines for submissions:

-MUST BE ORIGINAL MUSIC! We are looking for new original songwriting.

- Songs should be no longer than 10 minutes in length.

- Cannot submit more than 10 minutes of music and no more than three songs per listening period (e.g. You can submit two five minute songs, three 3 minute songs, etc.).

-When submitting, please write in the subject of the email your name or the name of your band - songwriting (ex: John Doe- Songwriting or My Band- Songwriting). In the body of your email, write a cover letter which includes your name/ band name, your address,  the name of your song(s), and a short bio in case your song(s) are chosen. Also, either write the lyrics in the body of the email or attach a file with the lyrics.

-We would prefer an audio file that only has the song title but a Youtube video is okay as well.
